Chapter 5- runner up

Hit man

I was paid 15 million dollars to kill Scar, a well-known gangster.

I was chasing a Porsche 911 in my Nissan GTR.

I was inside a building with a sniper in my hands, but I didn’t shoot.

Then I woke up. I was in my bed. It was my first day at work. I had to go to a secret office located in Times Square. I put on my black suit, carried my briefcase—with my gun hidden inside—and went straight to my cabin. On the desk was a letter with a cheque. It was the deal: 15 million dollars to kill Scar.

The phone rang. I picked it up.

“Motherf***er, I want Scar dead.”

I didn’t know who it was, but I was ready.

Hello everyone, I am Sandy, destined to become one of the greatest hitmen of all time. When I reached home, I decided to do some research. I discovered six people I had to eliminate before I could reach Scar and finish him.

The next day, I picked him up from the airport. Albert was a great detective—he had solved a major case involving a murder committed by a child. I brought him to my home and explained everything.

He looked at me and said, “Don’t search for Scar.”

I was shocked. “Why? There’s a high chance he’s behind all this. I can guarantee 98%.”

Albert smiled, turned toward me, and replied, “What about the remaining 2%? You’re not fully sure.”

That made sense. I asked him how he knew, and he explained:

“Imagine you and I had a fight, and all our friends knew about it. Then one day, someone beats me up. Obviously, everyone would suspect you. So, to stay safe, you wouldn’t fight me at all. That’s exactly what Scar is doing.”

Wow. That’s why he’s called a detective—I hadn’t thought of it that way.

Albert studied the pictures carefully. Then he said, “He’s the one who tried to kill the president.”

I was stunned, because that person was…
