Chapter 2
END? (season 2)
Heaven conquerer
When I began to climb the stairway toward heaven, I encountered a god—an assistant warrior, a knight like myself. He did not touch me but asked me politely to stop, and I respected his request. He looked into my past and realized that I was worthy of entering heaven. When I resumed my ascent, he said, “Enjoy, but don’t forget to bow to the gods.” I stopped, stood firm, and replied, “No, not today. The gods must ask for help.” Then I continued upward. He was shocked but remained silent, believing I could do nothing.
A guard approached him, and when the god realized the truth, he tried to kill me. I dodged his sword and struck back, severing his head. My eyes burned red as I slew him, for he was corrupted. I looked upward, sensing that the gods were watching. With my bloodied sword, I entered heaven, where countless gods awaited me. My father and grandfather were watching. My grandfather rose and declared, “My son was a slave of the rich, but my grandson will destroy them.”
I charged forward, cutting down angels as thunder roared. For the first time in history, heaven was stained with the blood of a mortal. Twenty angels tried to stop me, but all fell. I gazed upon the golden castle and saw a god filled with arrogance. My eyes glowed red, and I shouted, “You don’t belong here. Go to hell. We will choose a proper god.”
An angel appeared before me. I prepared to strike, but he said, “I am a lower angel. I am not here to kill you but to save you. Believe me—we angels do not lie.” I followed him, and he revealed that the king god believed himself to be everything, plotting even to kill the Creator. Rage filled me, but I understood that killing a god was a sin. Angels, however, were once mortals, and if they sinned in their angelic life, they could be slain.
Outside, I met my grandfather. He asked, “Grandson, do you have a girl you love?” I smiled and answered, “Yes, Princess Jasmine.” He was shocked, then laughed, saying, “Oh God, see my grandson. He will not die like you. I am glad you chose to be a knight. You will die in a grand way. But what is that cape?” I replied, “I was promoted. I am at the same level you once were.” Tears filled his eyes—he was proud.
The king god approached, furious. “You little creature, how dare you kill my angels? How dare you challenge me? I can cast your family out. Leave, or I will kill you.” His words enraged me. He struck me, blood spilling from my mouth, and I fell. He seized my father, beating him until he collapsed. “You were a slave on earth, and you are a slave here,” he sneered. He raised his sword to kill my grandfather, but the angel who had guided me intercepted the blade, falling with it in his chest.
The heavens watched in silence, but I stood behind him, bloodied and unbroken. “Turn around,” I said. “I am a warrior. I do not strike from behind.” He turned, and we clashed. His sword cut deep, but I struck harder, punching his face again and again until blood poured from his nose. For the first time, he tasted defeat at the hands of a mortal.
I pushed him down. “Be a man. Rise and face this immortal,” I demanded. My grandfather rose, smiling, and handed me my sword. I leapt forward, driving the blade into the king’s mouth. He fell, finished.
I walked to the angel, revived him, and raised his hand before all. “He is your new king, protected by me.” The heavens applauded. My father recovered, and the angel told me I must go to the Lake of Souls to reclaim my body. But there awaited the goddess of death—majestic, powerful, the Queen of Heaven. With the king slain, she was ready to face me. The question remained: who would fall?
