NEW CHAPTER OF LIFE
Sometimes moving on becomes the hardest thing to do, but I did it. Yes, it has been four years since our breakup, and until now Ross has been taking care of her. I’m happy because she is happy. If you wonder why I left her, remember—I am a warrior, and I have to fight. There is no guarantee I will come home alive. How could I make promises to anyone? She is happy, and so am I, but deep inside there will always be a sadness: no one will be waiting for me with a child, no kids shouting “Dad’s home, he’s alive.” Yet it comforts me, because if someone were waiting, my soldier would have to go to her and say, “He is no more.”
Remember this, my friends: don’t be sad that she is not with me. Be glad, because I am here to protect her prince, though there is no one to protect her knight. But enough of sadness. Do you know, it has been four years since I last introduced myself to anyone? I am quite famous—not because of great deeds, but because of my power. I can defeat a hundred soldiers without struggle.
I decided to continue my journey to find peace. But what I found was love, not peace. I rode my horse with permission granted, riding happily, when suddenly Belltrix’s soldiers attacked me. I fell in the middle of the jungle. When I woke, I drew my sword. We fought. They cut me in many places. They were highly trained, making it hard for me. A cut on my leg forced me to kneel. I tried to rise but couldn’t. I decided to run, but they laughed at me. One soldier pressed his foot on my face, and they beat me until I fainted. I saw God then. He said, “My child, you cannot win every time. Surrender for now.” I refused: “It is against my pride, my ego, my promise.”
My eyes opened again. They were still cutting me, but I struggled to rise. Soon, a man with blood on his face stood before me. I tried to move toward them but couldn’t. Then I saw Bell. He was alive, waiting for me. I said, “Bell, shame on you. You sent these little cowards to weaken me.” He laughed, grabbed my throat, and punched me. I laughed harder with each blow. I lifted him up, though his soldiers struck me. Still I stood, threw him aside, and lifted a huge rock, smashing it onto his head. He was dead. I turned to his soldiers, killed them all but spared one. I removed the stone and told him, “Take this body to Belltrix. Tell her: next time, send an army, not children.” He fled.
I sat down, injured, barely able to breathe. Death appeared in a black cloak with a staff. He said, “I am here to see you, not to take you.” I replied, “You are not worthy to take me. When I face death, I will decide whether to go or not—not you.” I screamed in pain, rose again, and walked. I had no strength to mount my horse, but I moved toward Belltrix’s kingdom. I will meet her, show her what a real man looks like, and fight her army. Wait and watch. TO BE CONTINUED……………….
